Axios reports that Trump sent a letter to Iran supreme leader Ali Khamenei with a two-month deadline for reaching a nuclear deal.

"If Iran rejects Trump's outreach and doesn'tnegotiate, the chances of U.S. or Israeli military action against Iran's nuclear facilities would dramatically increase," the report says.

The two month timeline isn't clear as Trump said on TV two weeks ago he had sent a letter to Khamenei, so perhaps we're already deep into the timeline. Officials from Iran have publicly said they won't negotiate.

In this week's Trump-Putin call, the White House readout said this:

The two leaders shared the view that Iran should never be in a position to destroy Israel.

That could be a hint at their positions.

Today, Trump tweeted this:

Reports are coming in that while Iran has lessened its intensity on Military Equipment and General Support to the Houthis, they are still sending large levels of Supplies. Iran must stop the sending of these Supplies IMMEDIATELY. Let the Houthis fight it out themselves. Either way they lose, but this way they lose quickly. Tremendous damage has been inflicted upon the Houthi barbarians, and watch how it will get progressively worse — It’s not even a fair fight, and never will be. They will be completely annihilated!
