  • Firms were divided on the impact of U.S. tariffs, with some saying the Japan–U.S. deal reduced uncertainty and improved the business outlook

  • Others saw a worsening outlook, factoring in the impact of U.S. tariffs

  • Some firms reported improved business conditions due to progress in passing on higher costs

  • Some firms saw conditions worsen from rising labour and distribution costs, and the risk of weaker consumption from higher prices

  • On outlook, firms from wide range of sectors worried about impact of US tariffs
