IG Group has appointed Gavin Chia as Chief Executive Officer of IG Singapore & Emerging Markets. The company shared the update today (Tuesday) on LinkedIn.

IG Hires Ex-Moomoo SG, Futu Singapore Executive

Chia joins IG after leading Moomoo Singapore, where he served as CEO for over two years. He also held the role of Acting COO. During his time there, he oversaw regulatory approvals, product launches, and regional expansion. Earlier, he was Managing Director at Futu Singapore, helping to establish its local operations and licensing.

His earlier career includes senior roles at UOB Kay Hian, Haitong International Securities, PhillipCapital, CIMB, and CMC Markets in Singapore.

Commenting on the appointment, Chia said: “Singapore is a hub for increasingly sophisticated investors, and IG is well-placed to serve clients seeking greater choice and deeper market access.”

Meanwhile, William Mead has taken on the role of Head of Operations at IG Group. Mead has held multiple positions at IG Group. From October 2019 to August 2024, he served as Head of Trading Operations. Prior to that, from January 2017 to October 2019, he was Global Head of Credit and Client Money. Both roles were based in London.
