Spreads

Tickmill has recently reviewed their trading costs and created exceptional liquidity with the help of their tier-1 level providers, allowing Tickmill to give customers the lowest spreads possible on all Majors currency pairs and Gold. As an example, for some of the most traded currency pairs, like the EUR/USD, the previous typical spread was 0.2 pip. Now the typical spread is 0.0 pip, a reduction of 100%. For the GBP/USD pair, the previous typical spread was 0.7 pip. Currently the typical spread is 0.2 pip, representing a reduction of 71%.

To benefit from the ultra-low spreads there’s a cost, of course, meaning that the Pro and VIP accounts have commissions. For example, for the EUR/USD, the standard lot commission for 1 lot (100,000 units) with the Pro account is 4 USD (2 USD per side). The standard lot commission for 1 lot (100,000 units) with the VIP account is 2 USD  (1 USD per side). The only downside with the VIP account (and its very competitive rates) is that to qualify, the account needs a minimum balance of 50,000 USD, which could be a problem for a lot of traders.

Rollover Rates

Tickmill swap rates, as of 07-09-2020, for 1 lot EUR/USD (100,000 units) stands at an average rate of -4.96 for holding overnight a long 1 lot contract and at -0.10 for holding overnight a short 1 lot contract. We consider these swap rates to be average compared with the rollover rates offered by other top Forex brokers.

The popularity of this excellent UK-based broker is remarkable. With over 263,000 registered accounts, the Tickmill Group has managed to catch the attention of quite a few traders. To note that the range of available markets is not the best, with only 80 instruments to trade.

Tickmill is not so popular regarding available trading platforms, only MT4 and MT5, which could be less appealing to a lot of traders. Perhaps it’s something that Tickmill could review in the future, and if so, we will post it here. But Tickmill scores higher with traders looking for ultra-fast execution speed. The broker provides one of the industry’s fastest execution times – 0.20s on average and with no requotes.

  • Trading accounts - The Tickmill Pro account is a popular choice with traders looking to save on trading costs, with a lower spread and a very competitive commission of $4.00 per lot traded. Extra points for Tickmill's policy of no fees on deposits or withdrawals.

  • Forex education - Tickmill also gets extra popularity points for their extensive range of Forex education materials, available through the Education tab. Tickmill clients can enroll on webinars, seminars, download Forex ebooks, watch and learn with video tutorials, read and make informed decisions with Tickmill fundamental & technical analysis reports and follow the market insights by the Tickmill experts.
