Live Spreads: Industry-Leading Pricing
We are loading data ...
A key factor in your trading costs is the spread. The spread is the difference between the bid (sell) and ask (buy) price of an asset. Commission is also charged on top of the spread on some account types and constitutes an additional transaction cost. IC Markets is known for having tight spreads, particularly on popular instruments like major forex pairs and gold. We confirm this by analysing real trading costs from live accounts, combining spreads and any commissions. Our data shows IC Markets is highly competitive in this area.

Highly trusted

I appreciated and enjoyed the high rebate I was receiving before it was discontinued for Australian-based accounts. However, I consistently found their slippage frustrating—especially during major news events.
Their servers often seemed overloaded, particularly during the early hours of the New York session when it overlaps with the final hours of the London session. This frequently led to noticeable slippage and occasional freezes in the chart or trading terminal. Even though my VPS was located in the same data center as their servers in New York, with a latency of just 2–3ms, the slippage was still unacceptable—especially from a broker as prominent as IC Markets. During events like NFP or other high-impact releases, I would actively stop any EA and avoid trading on my accounts with them, as their performance tended to be worse than that of much smaller brokers.
The spreads are reasonable on Raw MT5 accounts during most of the day and widen a bit during rollover, and I can’t speak to how competitive the conditions are on their Standard or cTrader accounts.
The free Forex VPS with volume trades is an advantage and they have a good variety of deposit and withdrawal methods.
Bottom line, I think they are okay but without rebates I can find a better value proposition

IC Markets Overall rating
5.0
Ranked 1 out of 1747 (Forex Brokers)
Overall rating is derived from an aggregate of ratings in multiple categories.
The vibe from IC Markets users on FxVerify is overwhelmingly positive – that #1 ranking speaks volumes. They've been around since 2007 so they've got a good track record, and traders seem to trust them a lot. They're also heavily regulated in several places, including the EU (that's Cyprus), Australia, and the Seychelles. They're a popular choice, too – we're talking over 3 million visits to their site each month (according to SimilarWeb). IC Markets is privately held, and they're not a bank.
Regulations: Strong Client Money Protection Measures
IC Markets isn't just regulated in one place – they've got licenses in the EU (Cyprus), Australia, and the Seychelles. Having oversight from multiple regulators shows they're serious about following the rules. If you're trading under their Cyprus (EU) license, your funds are protected up to €20,000 by a compensation scheme, just in case something goes wrong. It's important to know that this specific protection doesn't apply to accounts under the Australian (ASIC) or Seychelles (FSA) regulations.
Tradable Assets: Over 2500 Instruments Available
IC Markets has a huge selection of things you can trade – over 2500 instruments! We're talking forex, of course, plus CFDs on things like stock market indexes, commodities, cryptocurrencies, bonds, and even individual stocks (over 2,000). The live search tool above gets its data straight from real accounts linked to our system, so you know it's up-to-date.
Just a reminder: CFDs (Contracts for Difference) let you bet on whether a price will go up or down, without actually owning the underlying thing. This can be handy, and it lets you use leverage, but it also means the risks can be higher.
Live Swap Rates: Competitive Overnight Holding Costs
Swap Rate: Long Position
Swap Rate: Short Position
Swap Rate Calculation Method
We are loading data ...
Swap rates are the fees (or sometimes credits) you'll encounter for keeping a position open overnight. The positive swap rates pay out to the trader, while negative swap rates incur a cost. Basically, swap rates above zero (positive) will be credited to your account, while swap rates below zero (negative) will be deducted from your account.
IC Markets tends to offer favourable swap rates, and we verify this with data from real, live accounts. If you'd like to compare the swap rates on IC Markets to other brokers or perhaps look at different assets that aren't shown, all you need to do is press that orange "Edit" button.
Picking the right platform is a big deal. IC Markets gives you options: MetaTrader 4 (MT4), MetaTrader 5 (MT5), cTrader, and TradingView, and they all have mobile apps too. The table above gives you a breakdown of the pros and the cons of each platform.
Deposit/Withdrawals: No Fees and Multiple Currencies Available
IC Markets gives you plenty of ways to fund your account and withdraw your winnings: bank wires, credit/debit cards, and a bunch of different e-wallets. This table shows you how long things usually take, the available account currencies and if there are any fees. Just keep in mind that even if IC Markets doesn't charge you, your bank or payment provider might.
