Entity/Regulation
- Seychelles regulation: Trinota Markets (Global) Limited will be the counterparty for international customers. This entity, trading as M4Markets, is registered in Seychelles as a non-banking financial services company and is regulated by the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles (FSA) with a Securities Dealer License, number SD035.
- European regulation: Harindale Ltd (also trading as M4Markets) is a company registered as a Cypriot Investment Firm (CIF), authorized and regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) with license 301/16. Harindale Ltd's CySEC license allows M4Markets to carry out brokerage activities in Europe, as an intermediary in the financial markets, respecting the MiFID obligations.
Client Money Protection
- M4Markets complies with the highest safety standards for clients' funds and employs strict policies and procedures. For this reason, M4Markets clients' funds are kept in top-tier international banks, fully segregated from the company's funds. M4Markets holds the client's money separately from the company funds and does not use these funds for any operational expenses or purposes.
Deposit Compensation Scheme
- Only Harindale Ltd is a member of the Investor Compensation Fund (ICF), a fund for retail clients of CIF firms, regulated by CySEC's directive DI87-07. If Harindale Ltd is unable to meet its obligations, clients might be entitled to compensation (up to the value of €20,000) per claim, irrespective of the number of accounts held, currency and place of the offering of the investment service (within Europe).
Negative Balance Protection
- For customers of Trinota Markets (Global) Limited and Harindale Ltd, there is a default NBP mechanism in place, protecting traders from any losses bigger than their original investments. This means that in case of extreme market volatility, and without an adequate stop loss in place, a losing trading position cannot cause a negative account balance.
